Held in Silver
(working title)
A fine art portrait series honoring creative icons through the intimacy and stillness of large-format film photography.
Christopher Dibble is a portrait and editorial photographer based in Portland, Oregon. His past subjects include Matt Smith, Beth Ditto, Donald Glover, and Nick Kroll.
Held in Silver is an ongoing portrait series created with a 4x5 large-format film camera. Each image is made with intention—slow, analog, and rooted in deep respect for the subject’s creative presence.
This is a personal fine art project. Sessions are brief (typically 15–20 minutes) and designed to be simple, quiet, and intentional. Each portrait is hand-printed in the darkroom and gifted to the subject, along with a digital version.
Portraits will not be sold, licensed, or published without permission. Select images may appear on my website or social media to document the series, but always with care and respect. The work is grounded in trust, creative legacy, and long-term plans for print or exhibition.
